Gratitude

When I was on yoga teacher training, one of our teachers suggested we practice saying thank you before each meal. Not just for the food we were about to eat, the people who prepared it, the farmers that produced it, the earth that provided it.... but also as a reminder to show gratitude on a regular basis for all the things that life brings.Having to focus your attention on things you're thankful for 3 or 4 times a day, no matter how big or small, really reminds you of how full life actually is. Recently I have even been showing gratitude for this period of depression I'm in, as I'm learning so much about myself and realising just how much I love myself - and how much others love me.
